K.Rashid Nuri, is the embodiment of "going green" and "thinking locally" as it relates to agricultural. He offers a community food system right here in Atlanta. Mr. Nuri founded
"Truly Living Well Natural Urban Farms" which is various plots of natural produce and organic foods. This gentleman has a spiritual connection with the earth in relation to foods and eating healthy. I watched how he enjoyed serving people in the community, as his customers appreciated what he offers in terms of quality food in the city. I learned about a plant I had not hear dof before called "arugula", which is a spicy little leaf, which some describe as bitter and
others characterize as having a "peppery-mustardy" flavor. Because it
is so potent on its own, it is often mixed with milder greens to
produce a nice balanced salad. It can also be sautéed in olive oil. You
can substitute most any green for arugula, but the closest matches are
Belgian endive, escarole, and dandelion greens. Below you find pictures of Mr. Nuri in action with other individuals he is teaching the art of local farming.
